Disappointed about something? Perhaps disappointed in yourself? Maybe things didn’t turn out the way you’d hoped. Or maybe you were an inch away from success and something went wrong last minute. Disappointment is part & parcel of life. You’ve heard that before, right? But let me tell you something that may help you a tiny bit. Many people mistakenly assume that being brave means never crying, never venting or never giving in to one’s emotions. We put unnecessary pressure on ourselves to remain stoic when faced with disappointment. The truth is….brave people cry. They let the tears flow….they rant…they hear their hearts break. But it’s what happens NEXT that’s important. It’s what makes them different. They don’t REMAIN in that state of misery. Once they’ve had a good cry, they wipe the tears, grit their teeth and move on. THAT IS BRAVERY. The ability to grieve but then to follow it up with grit. So, my friends, let’s re-assess our definition of bravery and make things a little easier for ourselves.
